Most consonants that come at the very end of a word are not pronounced.

Masculine and feminine adjectives are distinguished from each other by the pronunciation
or non-pronunciation of the final consonant. The addition of an e at
the end of the feminine adjective makes the final consonant pronounced (see
the Adjective section).

Pronounced Final Consonants
Be CaReFuL!
The only consonants that are typically pronounced at the end of words in French are:
C-R-F-L. So remember to be CaReFuL when speaking French!

There are particular words, besides those ending in c,r,f,or l,
that have pronounced final consonants. Most are either borrowed words or mono-syllabic words that would simply not have enough sounds to differentiate the meaning from a similar word.
